Can items be placed at The Wall?
Absolutely, this is a replica of The Wall in DC and items can be placed. We will follow the same protocol as the Wall in DC, where items will be collected every evening and secured in a display case at the Command Post during the event. After the event, the items left at the Wall will be secured and preserved for future viewing at a location within the county. We will not be able to return any items left at The Wall.
Will there be any food or beverage vendors?
Once The Wall officially opens at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 9th, the area becomes hallowed ground. No food or drink will be allowed. We respectfully request that visitors do not bring outside food or drinks with them to the event.
We will, however, have food and drinks available in the Fire Department Social Hall with all food and drink to be consumed inside. The New Windsor Lions Club will be serving light refreshments for purchase during the morning and afternoon for purchase. All food and drink cannot go beyond the doors of the social hall to the grounds.
There are local restaurants in the area ready to serve you.
