Join us Friday, October 10th at 6:00pm as we light the Wall orange.
We invite the community to illuminate 200 orange candles to shine the light on the effects of Agent Orange in honor of those who lost their fight and those still fighting the fight. The Wall will be the site of the placement of the candles.

During the Vietnam War, the U.S. military sprayed approximately 20 million gallons of the herbicide, Agent Orange, with the goal of removing the dense foliage that provided cover for enemy troops thus improving visibility. Agent Orange contained the contaminant dioxin which is known to cause serious health problems.

Shining Light on Agent Orange
In memory of those who lost the battle and those still fighting the fight
The Vietnam War may be over, but the battle continues for many Vietnam Veterans. Shining light on Agent Orange honors veterans and their families while creating awareness to educate the veterans, families and public about the health problems associated with Agent Orange exposure. Agent Orange exposure has been linked to a number of serious illnesses, including bladder cancer, prostate cancer, respiratory cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, hypothyroidism, and Type 2 diabetes. Resources will be available to help the veterans and their families on the services available. Vietnam veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange during service may be eligible for a variety of VA benefits.
The Faces of Agent Orange
The Vietnam Memorial Wall does not contain the names of the estimated 2.8 million Vietnam veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange while serving and later died, nor will it contain the names of those still fighting the effects.
To honor the veteran who lost their battle and those still fighting the fight, we will have a exhibit during the event where a picture of the Vietnam veteran will be on display to show the Faces of Agent Orange.
Bring a copy of a photo, no larger than 4×6* at any time during the event and we will laminate it. You can then place it in the Faces of Agent Orange exhibit to honor the Vietnam veteran. *Please note the photo will not be returned. Please ensure that it’s a copy.
